Editing specials exclusive to the #RevPit community

If you follow me on Twitter, you’ve likely seen a few (okay, maybe a ton) of tweets about a thing called #RevPit. This is a fantastic contest for authors looking to get their manuscript agent-ready. The winners receive a free month of developmental editing!

This is a contest created by a group of fabulous editors. You can learn more here: http://reviseresub.com/

I am honored to be a participating editor of #RevPit. Over the past week, I had the pleasure of reading query letters and opening pages of over 100 manuscripts! Out of all of those, I selected one to work with for five-weeks. But…choosing just one story to work on was the most difficult part of this whole contest. What I really want to do is work on ALL of the manuscripts I received (and even some that weren’t submitted to me!). There is so much talent and drive for success in the writer community, and I love it. I want to cocoon myself in it.

Let’s be real: Editing is expensive. But it’s also worth it. If you can find an editor to work with, who becomes part of your team, who is rooting for you to succeed, then it’s priceless. And I don’t just say all of this so you’ll hire me! I want you to find the best editor(s) for YOU.

But, in case you DO want to hire me, I’d like to make it a bit easier on you. I’m tailoring three different editing specials exclusive to #RevPit participants (even if this just means you were chatty on Twitter, but didn’t enter!). Pick one. Pick all.

How to Redeem

Step one: Email me at katie (at) katiemccoach (dot) com. Or, fill out the Request a Quote form on the right. Please include #RevPit in the subject of the email.

Step two: Decide on package, or, if you’re not sure, we can discuss and select the right package for you.

Step three: Get on the schedule. We’ll set a date for this work, or an estimated timeline. If you aren’t ready yet, don’t worry! As long as a deposit is placed, you’ll have up to one year to redeem the work.

Fine print

For the smaller package options, pay by 5/31/17 to redeem within one year from that date. For larger packages, you can put down a nonrefundable holding deposit of $150 to lock in the rate for up to one year.

Keep in mind that if you are unable to schedule a firm date for our work to begin, my calendar may fill up, so all I ask for is flexibility. I generally book 2-3 months in advance.

Congrats to all the amazing authors who entered Revise & Resub this year. I hope you’ve learned a ton so far with #10queries, #askeditor, and following the #RevPit thread on Twitter.

I can’t wait to work with you to get your book pitch ready.

And as always, be sure to sign up for the KM Editorial monthly newsletter to be kept informed of contests, news for writers, editing advice, and more.
